To start, Howdy Plumbing is a business that does the right thing and handles themselves with integrity and professionalism. I will never look elsewhere. We just moved into a nearly 100-year-old house in Sacramento. I knew I had plumbing issues to address. We found Howdy through a recommendation on Reddit. We called and received a quick response followed by an onsite assessment and quote. (The first place we called denied the job just after hearing on the phone.) Michael came out, sat down with me, and gave me different options to consider with pricing, nothing hidden. We scheduled two weeks out, no issues. Michael is communicative and knowledgeable in a way that puts a plumbing layperson at ease. He showed up on schedule and went to work undoing decades of plumbing history in a crawl space that was unforgiving, not at all complaining, or indicating he’d rather be elsewhere. He understands people's needs and seems honored by his skill set and willingness to help solve problems. I had problems! After the agreed-upon work was completed, I paid, we shook hands, and everything seemed perfect. Because I had old stainless pipes, when the water was turned back on, everything worked fine at first, but in the next hour I had a substantial loss in water pressure and an unusable toilet due to rust deposits. This was around 6:30 PM. I contacted Michael, and he said he’d come back out and address the problem that very evening. He left his family after a long day at work to be sure my family didn’t have issues. He came out at 8 PM and fixed the pressure issue, cleaned lines, and rebuilt my toilet. I apologized for him having to come out, but he couldn’t have been more accommodating and understanding, saying that he did not want to leave a job with any standing issues or problems. I wasn’t charged beyond my initial bid. He could have easily added on to it all, but instead did two things: The right thing by going above and beyond taking care of the customer, and two, made me a customer for life. Customer service is alive and well at Howdy Plumbing. I’m grateful. Thank you, Michael. Do not look elsewhere for plumbing needs. This is the place.

Surprisingly, a friendly and knowledgeable woman answered and scheduled a Tuesday morning appointment for my non-urgent plumbing needs. Very honest business. Great communication and showed up on time as promised. He assessed my problem within the first 5 minutes of his visit and saved me money from what I thought was a leak in my main water line. Turned out to be a sprinkler valve. Another plus was he did not charge me for this assessment. If I ever have any plumbing problems at all in the future he earned not only my trust but my business. I cannot speak enough about this business and Kyle, the owner. I had two other plumbers come out and they were terrible. One never got back to me after giving a very high quote. And the other got back to me, but the quote was high AND he had no idea what could be the problem. He was talking about opening up the wall AND the concrete to figure it out. I heard about Kyle from Nextdoor and called him and he came out the next day. He assessed the problem immediately and said he could come in two days' time to fix it. While he was fixing it, he came across an issue that he didn’t anticipate because of the poor, cheap plumbing that was put in when the house was being built, and he couldn’t see it until he was digging around. He had to do extra work but of course ran it by me and I agreed. He broke down all the costs and labor to me and it all made sense. While he was doing all of this, he discovered that there was a different way he could achieve the same outcome while keeping the costs down. This was another situation that he couldn’t have known until he was fully involved. So not only did he know what was going on, the only thing he couldn’t have anticipated was the extensiveness of the project because the issue was further up than he planned on and bad original plumbing, but he dropped the cost back to the original quote. He could have done anything he wanted and charged the more expensive rate, and I would not have known! But he was so incredibly honest. I recommend him to you, your mom, your neighbors, your friends, and everyone else in between!
